Cuban Embassy Facilitates Growth of Fortune 500 Beijing Service Base to Co-create a Global Social Ecosystem

On February 25, Mr. Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández, Cuban Ambassador to China, Mr. Mario Alzugaray, Deputy Director of the Cuban Embassy in China, Ms. Elizabeth Vela, Tourism Counsellor of the Cuban Embassy in China, Mr. Omar Leon Sánchez, Chief Representative in China of Habanos SA in Cuba, and officials from local government authorities attended the entrepreneurs’ networking session of the Fortune 500 Beijing Service Base.

Under the guide of the major officials of the service base, Carlos Miguel Pereira started with an investigation of the basic operations of the service base, and conducted in-depth communication with several entrepreneur representatives of the service base.

Building Fortune 500 Beijing Service Base for regional upgrading

According to the latest report released on the world's first International Exchange Centers Index, Beijing ranked seventh among global cities in terms of comprehensive assessment. As an important carrier of the capital functions and an important window for international exchanges, Chaoyang District has been accelerating its pace towards internationalization by virtue of its functional positioning in Beijing's urban planning.

Mr. Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández, Cuban Ambassador to China, who has devoted himself to the integration of Chinese and Cuban cultures for years, elaborated on the profound friendship between China and Cuba as well as the prospects of cultural exchanges between the two countries on site. He said, "Cuba is the first country in the western hemisphere to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. China and Cuba have built profound friendship. The Cuban Embassy plans to conduct more cultural exchanges at MAHA CLUB, and continue to promote the integration and progress in economic construction and the development of civilization between China and Cuba."

Carlos Miguel Pereira also sincerely invited entrepreneurs of the service base to visit Cuba in person. He showed his intents to strengthen cooperation with the service base in various fields. With several consensuses reached, he looked forward to further in-depth exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Omar Leon Sánchez, Chief Representative in China of Habanos SA, hoped that in the future, in addition to exchanges in cigar culture, MAHA CLUB would rely on the service base to carry out more in-depth exchanges and cooperation with entrepreneurs on international high-end lifestyles.

Meanwhile, Mr. Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández brought a very commemorative gift for MAHA CLUB—Montecristo commemorative cigars in a ceramic jar for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba. These commemorative cigars with diplomatic significance are limited to 1,000 jars worldwide, with each jar individually numbered. The 316th jar was given to MAHA CLUB, and as a return, MAHA CLUB presented Carlos Miguel Pereira with an embroidery of intangible cultural heritage with Chinese elements, implying the splendor civilizations of China and Cuba. The two gifts with strong traditional cultural elements of the two countries have witnessed the blending, progress, long history and endless growth of the two cultures.
